Born in New Zealand, Julia Corry studied at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague with Barthold Kuijken (1990-1998). Julia has recorded the flute sonatas of JS Bach for Arte Nova Classis, has performed and participated in recordings and radio broadcasts including Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century, Akademie für Alte Musik, Australian Chamber Orchestra and Concerto Italiano. She has collaborated in performances with Philippe Pierlot, Christopher Hogwood, Paul Dombrecht, Emma Kirkby, Christophe Rousset and Jordi Savall. Based in Ireland since 2001, she has established a flute school in Westport and performs frequently with Irish Baroque Orchestra. Julia has performed with Camerata Kilkenny and the Irish Baroque Orchestra Chamber Soloists. During the month of September, Julia will be involved with mentoring the young flutes from the Sligo Baroque Orchestra on baroque flute.
