The Sligo Festival of Baroque Music has been held annually now for over fifteen years. With admirable support from the Irish Arts Council and local sponsors, it is able to attract many of the finest baroque musicians performing in Europe today.
Over a single weekend at the beginning of October, four top-line groups provided a fascinating range of musical styles from the 17th and 18th centuries – from. …All in all, the Sligo Baroque Music Festival provided a beautifully compact programme of events of very high standard in a venue well-suited to their enjoyment. Its small scale and intimacy of surrounding led to a very enjoyable weekend of music – with many opportunities for participation.
